Bhind Car Accident: Child Dies After BJP Leaders Driver Opens Door

A four-year-old boy travelling to the market with his grandfather was killed in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district on Saturday. The accident occurred when the driver of a Brezza car allegedly opened the vehicle’s door while it was moving, causing an overtaking motorcycle to crash into it.

The car reportedly belongs to former BJP Mahila Morcha district president Seema Sharma. The impact threw the child onto the road, where he came under the car’s wheels.

Following the accident, angry locals allegedly assaulted the car driver and blocked the National Highway-719.

The accident took place near Kanakura village under the Dehat police station area on Saturday evening.

According to police, four-year-old Devansh Yadav was travelling to Bhind market on a motorcycle with his grandfather, Sunil Yadav. Near the Kunwari River bridge, they were attempting to overtake the Brezza car.

The motorcycle collided with the car’s door after it was suddenly opened. The impact was so severe that Devansh was thrown onto the road and came under the car’s wheels.

A wheel reportedly ran over his head, killing him on the spot. His grandfather Sunil also sustained injuries in the accident.

Driver allegedly opened door to spit gutka

According to eyewitnesses, the car driver opened the door while the vehicle was moving to spit gutka. The motorcycle then crashed directly into the open door.

Police are also investigating this aspect of the accident.

Devansh’s father, Durgesh Yadav, works as a truck driver. According to the family, Devansh was his only son.

After the accident, angry locals surrounded the car driver. Eyewitnesses said the driver told the crowd, “What can I do? I did nothing.”

The crowd allegedly assaulted him following the statement.

Meanwhile, Rahul Sharma, who was approaching the spot from behind, began recording the incident on his mobile phone. Angry locals allegedly assaulted him as well and snatched his phone.

Rahul sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Half-kilometre traffic jam on highway

Police teams from Phoop and Dehat police stations reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and brought the situation under control.

The incident led to a traffic jam stretching for around half a kilometre on the highway. Police later cleared the road and restored traffic movement.

The Brezza car has been seized.

A case has been registered against the driver based on a complaint filed by Devansh’s paternal uncle. Police said all aspects of the accident are being investigated and further action will be taken based on the findings.
