Datia Man Murders Bank Employee in Indore

Police have made a major revelation in the murder case of 26-year-old bank employee Palak Keshav, who lived in Indore’s Tapeshwari Bagh area. Police have apprehended the accused Mayank Shakya from Datia. In preliminary interrogation, Mayank confessed to strangling Palak to death out of anger over her refusal to marry him.

On Saturday night, the body of Palak, a resident of Timarni in Harda district, was found in her rented room. After the post-mortem report confirmed death by suffocation, police registered a murder case.

Station in-charge Manoj Sendhav’s team scanned nearby CCTV footage and retrieved call details. The young man who came to meet Palak a day before the incident was identified as Mayank Shakya, a resident of Datia.

Mayank and Palak were in contact with each other for 5 years. Mayank wanted to marry her, but Palak was not ready for it. Enraged by her refusal to marry, Mayank reached Indore from Datia. An argument ensued between the two, after which the accused strangled Palak.

Attempt to show it as an accident after murder

After the murder, the accused tried to make the case look like an accident by sprinkling petrol in the room and attempting to set it on fire, then fled. During the room inspection, the police found the kitchen gas burner open and also found injury marks on the head. The body is said to be about two days old. The police have brought the accused Mayank from Datia to Indore and are interrogating him.
