New rates for 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders have come into effect across the country from Saturday. In Madhya Pradesh, its price has been reduced by 190 to 194 rupees. In Bhopal, a commercial cylinder will now be available for 2743 rupees. The reduction in prices is expected to bring relief to the hotel, restaurant, and catering businesses.
Hotel and restaurant operators say that the operating costs had increased due to the rise in commercial gas cylinder prices in the last few months. Because of this, the prices of food and catering services were also increased by 10 to 15 per cent in many places. Now that the cylinder is cheaper, customers may get some relief in the coming time.

Prices had surged three months ago
According to traders, during the Iran-America tension, the price of commercial LPG cylinders had sharply increased. In many cities, its price had reached more than 3300 rupees. Before the war, the price of a 19 kg cylinder was between 1800 to 2000 rupees.

Most expensive in Rewa, cheapest in Shajapur
According to the new rates, the commercial cylinder in Rewa has become 2991.50 rupees. Its price in Singrauli and Narsinghpur is 2989.50 rupees, while in Satna it is 2989 rupees. Meanwhile, the cheapest commercial cylinder in the state will be available in Shajapur for 2749.50 rupees.

Catering business was affected
People associated with the catering business say that the increase in gas prices led to an increase in event costs. According to them, the cost of a food event for about 500 people, costing around 5 lakh rupees, had increased by 45 to 50 thousand rupees. Due to this, many caterers had increased per-plate prices.
