
A case of alleged rape on the pretext of marriage and pressure to convert religion has been reported in Indore’s Khajrana area. Based on the woman’s complaint, police registered a case against Mohammad Bilal under charges including rape and criminal intimidation and arrested him. After being produced in court, he was sent to judicial custody.
Allegedly had physical relations on promise of marriage
According to police, the woman told investigators that Mohammad Bilal gained her trust by promising to marry her and allegedly established physical relations with her several times on that pretext.
When she later asked him to marry her, he allegedly placed a condition that she convert to Islam before the marriage.
Alleged threats after refusal to convert
The woman further alleged that when she refused to convert, Bilal abused her and threatened to kill her.
Following her complaint, Khajrana police registered a case and arrested the accused. He was subsequently produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
Accused named in earlier rape case
During the investigation, police also found that Bilal had previously been booked in another rape case registered at Azad Nagar police station.
Police said further investigation into the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the case is underway.
