The accused, who stabbed his wife to death in Ratlam, kept insisting at the police station to meet his wife. He kept saying his wife’s name, “Let me meet Rukaiya.” It is alleged that the husband inflicted 35 stab wounds from his wife’s throat to her chest, causing her death on the spot.
In Ratlam’s Sunaron Ki Bawdi area, on Sunday (August 2) afternoon, Asgar Ali (35) attacked and killed his wife Rukaiya (33) by stabbing her in the throat. He then sat near the body, and a video of this has surfaced. At the time of the incident, their 7-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were also at home.
Hearing the noise in the house, the daughter came down from the first floor and came out to say that her father was hitting her mother. When the grandfather and neighbors reached the house, Asgar Ali was sitting on his wife’s chest and stabbing her in the throat. When they tried to stop him, he started screaming. After this, the police were informed.

Upon receiving information, the police team, including Manak Chowk Police Station In-charge Vikram Singh Chauhan, arrived and found the husband sitting near the body. One hand was on the wife’s neck and a knife was in the other hand. Police arrested him.
An FIR for murder was registered on the complaint of the wife’s brother, Mohammad Khachrodwala. The mobile phones of the husband and wife have also been seized. The reason for the murder has not come to light.

It also came to light that the husband had been mentally disturbed for 6 months and was undergoing treatment. A year ago, he had opened an online mobile shop in the rural area of the district, which he later closed and started in Ratlam.
According to neighbours, within 6 months, family members had also taken him, tied with chains, to religious leader Syedna Saheb for treatment. However, information regarding the illness is yet to be confirmed by the family.

Rukaiya’s maternal home is in Lakkarpeetha, Ratlam. Her brother, Mohammad Khachrodwala, was called, but he did not answer. Bohra community spokesperson Salim Arif informed that the body was buried at 10:30 PM. Police have sealed the incident room located on the ground floor of the two-story house.

Accused Asgar Ali lived with his wife Rukaiya, 7-year-old daughter, and 2-year-old son. His elder brother Mustafa (40) and parents also lived in the house. At the time of the incident, the parents were not at home. According to information, elder brother Mustafa has been mentally challenged since childhood, and Rukaiya used to take care of him.

According to information, everything was normal in the house before the incident. The accused had tea and baked samosa in the morning. His mother had also asked him to go to the mosque for Chehlum. After this, no one in the house knew what happened suddenly.
Manak Chowk Police Station in-charge Vikram Singh Chauhan said that a murder case has been registered against the accused husband. He did not reveal anything during interrogation. He only kept insisting on meeting his wife.
