In a creative effort to promote road safety, the Krishnanagar Police District has launched a unique campaign that rewards people for following traffic rules. Citizens who wear a helmet while riding a two-wheeler or fasten their seatbelt while driving can now win ₹500 every day by simply posting a selfie on social media.
Helmet selfies can win daily cash
To participate, commuters need to click a clear selfie while wearing a helmet or seatbelt and upload it on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram using the hashtag #selfiekpd. Every day, five winners will be selected, and each will receive a cash prize of ₹500.
Participants can join the campaign by scanning the QR code shared by the police or by visiting the official Krishnanagar Police District traffic portal to register.

Police officials said the campaign is designed to encourage people to make road safety a daily habit instead of following rules only to avoid fines. They believe rewarding responsible behaviour will inspire more people to wear helmets, use seatbelts, and obey traffic regulations.
