The bodies of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law were found hanging from different branches of the same tree on Monday morning, in MP’s Raisen district. A box of sulfas, a woman’s purse, a water bottle, and a bike were recovered from the spot. The case is from Nagin Mod Peepal forest.
Police have identified the deceased as Rupesh Kushwah (38), resident of Bikalpur, Jaithari Chowki, Silwani police station area, and his sister-in-law Pinky Kushwah, resident of Patha Paudi. The suicide is being investigated from the angle of a love affair.

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law had left on a bike in the evening
According to initial information, Rupesh had gone to pick up his sister-in-law Pinky on Sunday afternoon. Both left on a bike in the evening, but did not return home until late at night. After this, around 1 AM, Pinky’s husband informed Silwani police station about their disappearance.
Rupesh and Pinky had a love affair
Police investigation revealed that Rupesh and Pinky had a love affair, which both families were opposing. Pinky was married about a year ago. She had no children. Rupesh was married about 6 years ago and has two children.
Sister-in-law Pinky’s purse and water bottle were found.
SDOP said – Confirmation will be made after the post-mortem report
Badi SDOP Neelam Chaudhary stated that prima facie the case appears to be related to a love affair and family opposition. A box of sulfas was also found at the scene. It is suspected that both consumed sulfas first.
After that, they hanged themselves with the help of scarves on different branches of the same tree. However, the actual cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem and FSL reports. Police are investigating all aspects.
