The MLA’s video was made, which has now surfaced.
A video purportedly showing former BJP MLA from Suwasara in Mandsaur, Radheshyam Patidar, abusing administrative officials and the sitting BJP MLA has surfaced online.
In the video, Patidar allegedly uses abusive language against a patwari, tehsildar and other officials. He is also heard making threatening remarks, including references to cutting off someone’s legs, staging a protest with his family, bringing the Collector and SP to the spot within 10 minutes, and “shaking the government up to Bhopal.”
Another man identified as Ramesh Patidar is heard threatening a landowner, saying, “Don’t come to the farm, otherwise we will cut you into pieces and make a vegetable dish out of you.”
The allegations have not been independently verified.
The dispute is related to the demarcation of land.
Former MLA accused of attempting land encroachment
The dispute concerns the demarcation and alleged encroachment of 1.620 hectares of agricultural land, bearing Survey No. 7, in Semli Kankar village under Suwasara tehsil.
Farmer Badrisingh Parihar, a resident of Guradiya Bamni, said he purchased the land around two years ago through a registered sale deed from 13 people.
He has alleged that a neighbouring party, including members of former MLA Radheshyam Patidar’s family, has been gradually attempting to encroach upon his land.
According to the farmer, on July 26, a JCB was used to dig pits on his land in an alleged attempt to take possession. He objected and submitted applications to the tehsildar and police, following which the pits were filled.
A video of the altercation has also surfaced.
Alleged second encroachment attempt the next day
The farmer alleged that the following day, July 27, several people reached the site, including Parmanand Patidar, his sons Onkarlal and Devendra Patidar, former MLA Radheshyam Patidar, Sarpanch representative Subhash Patidar and Ramesh Patidar.
According to the complaint, they allegedly attempted to take possession of the land again by installing cement pillars.
An argument reportedly followed, during which abusive language and threats were allegedly issued. A video of the incident has since surfaced online.
The farmer claimed that two police personnel and revenue officials were present at the site, but no effective action was taken despite the alleged abusive language and threats being made in their presence.
Farmer seeks FIR and security
On July 31, Badrisingh Parihar submitted a complaint at the Superintendent of Police’s office.
He named six people, including former MLA Radheshyam Patidar, and alleged attempts to forcibly occupy his land, death threats, verbal abuse and efforts to influence police action.
The farmer has sought an impartial investigation, registration of an FIR, legal action against those named in the complaint and security for himself and his family.
He also claimed that the land had already been demarcated by the Revenue Department, but disputes continued to be created despite the demarcation, allegedly because of pressure from influential people.
‘I’m not being allowed to farm my own land’
Badrisingh said he was not being allowed to cultivate the land he had legally purchased.
He alleged that attempts to occupy the property continued even after its demarcation and that he was being repeatedly threatened.
The farmer said that if anything happened to him or his family, the people allegedly involved should be held responsible.
Former MLA says video was edited
Radheshyam Patidar has denied the allegations and claimed that the viral video was edited and circulated selectively.
He said the matter was not a personal dispute involving him but a land dispute concerning a farmer in the village.
According to Patidar, one farmer had been cultivating the disputed land since 1954, but another person subsequently purchased it. He attributed the dispute to settlement-related errors and said similar cases had emerged in several villages.
Patidar said he had reached the spot only to support the farmer concerned.
He also accused Badrisingh of buying and selling disputed and government-allotted land and of harassing farmers.
The former MLA claimed that complaints had previously been submitted to the Chief Minister, Collector, SP and Suwasara police station, but no action was taken because of political protection.
He added that after the video went viral, several farmers contacted him with similar complaints.
SP: Complaint and viral video will both be investigated
SP Vinod Kumar Meena said the police had received the victim’s complaint and were also aware of the viral video.
He said the entire matter would be investigated and legal action would be taken based on the facts established during the probe.
Attempts were made to contact Suwasara MLA Hardeep Singh Dang for his response, but he did not answer the phone.
Former MLA has faced controversies before
Radheshyam Patidar has previously been involved in controversies.
In June 2025, he allegedly misbehaved with toll plaza employees at Kher Kheda in Sitamau and slapped the toll manager. A video of that incident also went viral on social media.
Patidar’s daughter-in-law, Durga Vijay Patidar, is currently the president of the Mandsaur District Panchayat.
