BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari lost by 6016 votes in the Datia by-election

After the BJP’s defeat by 6,016 votes in the by-election for the Datia assembly seat, the party organization is in action mode. A review meeting has been called at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal, along with ministers, office bearers, and in-charges associated with the election, are participating in it.

According to party sources, the reasons for the defeat, the role of the organization, and complaints of infighting will be discussed. About two dozen leaders, including Datia by-election in-charge Bharat Singh Kushwah, State General Secretary Rahul Kothari, Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, Minister Rao Uday Pratap Singh, and Rakesh Shukla, are participating in the meeting. The arrival of ministers continued before the meeting began.

Former Minister Yashodhara criticized the party over the defeat

Decision on disciplinary action will be taken

According to party sources, BJP was expecting a better performance in urban Datia, but the Congress gained an advantage. Meanwhile, BJP gained an advantage in rural areas. The organisation’s internal report mentions allegations of sabotage against some councillors. A decision on disciplinary action may be taken after the review meeting.

Report of District President and Office Bearers to be Sent

According to sources, the state organisation will prepare a report of complaints received against BJP District President Raghuvir Kushwah and some other district office bearers, which may be sent to the central leadership.

Narottam Mishra Campaigned, Yet Did Not Win

Despite his ticket being cut, former Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra participated in the entire election campaign in support of party candidate Ashutosh Tiwari. However, within the party, it is being assessed that after the change of ticket, the BJP candidate could not get the full support of the workers.

Social media activities will also be reviewed

According to party sources, the political connections behind the misleading posts and fake letters that went viral on social media during the elections will also be investigated. A list of those who shared the relevant posts is being prepared.

CM said – People’s verdict is accepted

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that BJP has performed well in the recent Lok Sabha and other assembly by-elections. He said that in a democracy, the people’s decision is supreme and BJP accepts it with complete humility. He spoke of contesting upcoming elections with even greater strength.

State President said – will conduct factual review

BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal said that the party respects the mandate of the Datia by-election. He said that after a detailed and factual review of the election results, future strategies will be formulated.
