Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav’s troubles are increasing. The Central Bank of India has pasted an attachment notice of Rs 16.61 crore on his ancestral house in Shahjahanpur. The bank has warned that if the loan is not repaid within 34 days, the property will be auctioned. The auction date has been set for September 9. However, the family removed the notice a short while later.
Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of Rs 16 crore 61 lakh from the Mumbai branch of Central Bank in the names of his wife Radha Yadav and mother Godavari. 27 days ago, the Delhi High Court had sentenced Rajpal Yadav to three months in jail in a cheque bounce case. However, he is currently out of jail.

Jailed 27 days ago in a check bounce case
- Rajpal Yadav was sentenced to 3 months in jail by the Delhi High Court on July 7 in 7 cheque bounce cases. In each case, he has to pay ?1.05 crore to the complainant. The total amount is ?7.35 crore. The court had stated that Rajpal had already paid approximately ?2 crore, which would be adjusted from the total amount.
- This case is related to his film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. In 2010, he took a loan of ?5 crore as a director to make the film. The film flopped at the box office and the loan amount could not be repaid on time. Following this, cheque bounce cases were filed.
- In April 2018, the Magistrate Court convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha in a cheque bounce case. Rajpal was sentenced to 6 months in jail. In 2019, the Sessions Court also upheld the sentence. In June 2024, the High Court temporarily stayed the sentence. He was asked to pay outstanding dues of approximately 9 crore rupees.
- Upon non-payment of the amount, an order to surrender was issued for February 2, 2026. Rajpal surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5. 12 days later, on February 17, he was granted interim bail.
Rajpal was released on February 17 after spending 12 days in Tihar Jail.
