A new twist has emerged in the murder case of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi, who returned from Shillong, has claimed that when Sonam Raghuvanshi was out on bail, her entire family stayed with her for 4 to 5 days at the guest house in Shillong, before Sonam surrendered.
He has demanded that the Shillong police investigate the guest house register and the IDs submitted. Meanwhile, Sonam’s brother Govind Raghuvanshi has dismissed these claims as rumours.
Actually, Vipin was summoned to the Shillong Court with a notice. There, he was questioned about the jewellery. In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Vipin revealed several important things. Read the report

I was asked: Which jewellery belongs to you
Vipin said that on July 29, when I reached Shillong Court, jewellery was shown there. I was asked which jewellery was yours? Which was not yours? I identified the jewellery that was ours, and also informed the court about the jewellery that was not ours. Many questions have also been asked regarding this jewellery.
Mangalsutra in the name of Raj Kushwah
Vipin said- Among the jewellery shown, there was a mangalsutra, which was in the name of Raj Kushwah. Probably, Raj and Sonam had already gotten married. It includes a gold mangalsutra and a gold chain.
Vipin raised a question- Raj Kushwah was doing a job of 15 to 20 thousand (rupees). Where would he have gotten the money for jewellery worth 5 to 6 lakh rupees? Sonam must have given that money too. The purchase date of this jewellery mentioned there was before Raja and Sonam’s wedding.
Accused of Raja seen in video conference
Vipin said that after my statement was recorded, when I was leaving the courtroom, I saw Sonam, Raj Kushwah, Anand Kurmi, Akash Rajput, Vishal Chauhan, who are accused of my brother’s murder, during the video conference.
Seeing them, I felt that they should all be punished as soon as possible. I also asked the advocate there – when did Sonam surrender, after which the advocate informed me.
Family stayed in guest house, booked under someone else’s name
Vipin has claimed that he received information from local police and people that Sonam’s entire family stayed with Sonam in a guest house in Shillong for a few days.
I also received information that the guesthouse where Sonam stayed was also taken in someone else’s name. After getting bail, Sonam could have taken the guesthouse on her own ID, but here too she committed fraud. Whenever someone stays in a guesthouse, hotel, or lodge, their ID is taken.
Sonam’s parents’ IDs should also be there. He has appealed to the Shillong Police that the police should investigate the guesthouse. They should find out if their IDs were submitted or not, and also check if there is an entry in the register.

Meanwhile, regarding Vipin’s claims, Sonam’s brother Govind Raghuvanshi says that on the day being referred to, their parents were in Indore, while he had to go to Bengaluru for business at that time. The claim being made is a rumour.
Marriage on May 11, 2025, Honeymoon on 21st, and Raja’s Murder on 23rd
Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam were married on May 11, 2025. On May 21, both went to Shillong (Meghalaya) for their honeymoon. There, on May 23, he went missing during the honeymoon.
10 days later, the police recovered Raja’s mutilated body from a 30-foot-deep gorge, which had several wounds from a sharp weapon, at which point Sonam was missing. Later, she surrendered in UP. After questioning her, Akash, Anand, and Vishal were apprehended.
