The star cast of ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ arrived in Lucknow on Wednesday to promote the film. The popular OTT series ‘Mirzapur’ had created a huge buzz among viewers.
Following the success of the series, the makers announced that its story would now be taken to the big screen. The film’s trailer has also been released.
Ali Fazal, who plays Guddu Pandit, Divyendu, who portrays Munna Bhaiya, and Jitendra Kumar, who plays the new Bablu, interacted with the media in Lucknow. They spoke about the journey of ‘Mirzapur’ from a web series to a feature film and the changes audiences can expect in the story.
Ravi Kishan to play an important role
Ali Fazal said the world of ‘Mirzapur’ is now moving from the series to the big screen. He said the film will offer a bigger spectacle, a more expansive world and higher stakes than ever before.
‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ will take the story forward from the series and bring several popular and iconic characters together once again, including Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Bhaiya and Guddu Pandit.
Meanwhile, Bablu Pandit will return in a transformed avatar. Actor Ravi Kishan will also feature in an important role in the film.

‘Film to release on 4 September’
Ali Fazal said that the film will release in cinemas on 4th September. We are all very excited about it. The Mirzapur web series has received so much love that there was a lot of pressure on us regarding this film.
We started the film promotion from Lucknow; this is our home. Every single thing about this city is very lovely. Whenever we come with our friends, we roam around the streets here and try different foods.

Film different from web series
Divyendu (Munna Bhaiya) said that the film will have the same tadka (flavor) as the web series. A lot of new things have been tried in it; the audience will not get bored anywhere. Divyendu said that we are the heroes of Hindi films; we people are immortal.
Strong dialogues and powerful characters will be seen on screen. I assure my audience that they will enjoy this film as much as they enjoyed the Mirzapur series.
Jitendra Kumar in the role of Bablu Pandit
Actor Jitendra Kumar is playing this role in the film in place of Vikrant Massey, who played the character of Bablu Pandit in the web series. Earlier, the makers had also released new posters of the film.
These showed the amazing looks of Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Munna Bhaiya (Divyendu), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) and Bablu Pandit (Jitendra Kumar).

The film has been written by Puneet Krishna, while Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment) have produced it.
