In Chamoli, a tunnel belonging to HCC (Hindustan Construction Company) suddenly experienced a strong gush of water. Due to the strong flow of water, 18 laborers got trapped. The accident occurred around 7 PM.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police and administration teams immediately reached the spot and commenced relief and rescue operations. The rescue team has safely extracted seven laborers. The rescue operation is continuously underway to safely extract the remaining laborers trapped inside the tunnel.
Chamoli Superintendent of Police, Surjeet Singh Panwar, stated that out of the seven laborers extracted, two have been taken to District Hospital Gopeshwar. Ambulances have been dispatched to the scene to transport other laborers to the hospital.

So far, seven laborers have been rescued. Out of these, two laborers have been taken to District Hospital Gopeshwar, while ambulances have been sent to the spot to take others to the hospital.
