Gorakhpur Sadar MP and film actor Ravi Kishan has been honored with the ‘Sarvottam Nagrik Samman 2026’ for his contribution to art, Indian cinema, and public life.
This honor was presented by the Meghashrey Foundation. Several prominent personalities who have contributed to various fields in the country were also honored at the ceremony held in Mumbai.
Award for contribution to Art and Public Service
Ravi Kishan was given this honor for his long-standing contribution to the field of Indian cinema and art, for bringing national recognition to regional cinema, and for his role in public life as a Member of Parliament. Along with acting, Ravi Kishan has also been active in the fields of politics and public service for many years.
Meghashrey Foundation founder and social worker Seema Singh initiated this award with the objective of honoring those who have inspired society and the nation through their remarkable work in their respective fields.

The award ceremony held in Mumbai was attended by the Governor of Maharashtra, Jishnu Dev Varma, Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs, Ashish Shelar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh, Ramlal, and Meghashrey Foundation founder, Seema Singh. It was in their presence that the award was presented to Ravi Kishan.
Several distinguished individuals associated with science, art, culture, cinema, and social service were also honored at the ceremony.

Several prominent figures, including Param Vir Chakra awardee Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, Padma Bhushan Prof. J. B. Joshi, Padma Shri Ashok Saraf, and filmmaker Subhash Ghai, were honored at the event.
These personalities have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields. Their work and achievements were also appreciated during the ceremony.
Ravi Kishan gets emotional upon receiving the honor
After receiving the honor, MP Ravi Kishan Shukla said that receiving the ‘Sarvottam Nagrik Samman 2026’ from the Meghashrey Foundation is a moment of pride and emotion for him.
He said that this honor will provide new energy and inspiration to his journey in art and public life so far.
Ravi Kishan said that for him, this honor is not just an award, but a resolve to fulfill his responsibilities towards art, culture, and public service with even greater dedication.
Created a distinct identity from cinema to politics
Ravi Kishan started his acting career with Bhojpuri cinema and created a distinct identity for himself. After this, he also worked in films of many languages, including Hindi.
His name is counted among the prominent artists who brought recognition to regional cinema across the country.
After acting, he stepped into politics and also served as a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament. In recognition of his multifaceted contribution to art and public life, he was awarded the ‘Best Citizen Award 2026’.
