U.S. President Trump posted seven consecutive messages on social media against Iran within about an hour on Sunday. In these posts, he targeted Iran’s weak economy, declining oil exports, and weakening currency.
Trump also posted an image of his face superimposed on a map of Iran. The AI-generated image related to Kharg Island drew the most attention, showing oil facilities being bombed with the words: “Bye-bye Kharg.”

1. Iran’s map was shaped like Trump’s face
The image has been divided into two parts:
First: A regular map of Iran is shown at the top.
Later: The boundary of the same map below has been deliberately altered to create a different shape.
In the map below, Iran’s shape has been made to resemble Trump’s side profile.
2. Oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz increased again
Trump shared a graphic claiming that around 18 million barrels of oil are now passing through the Strait of Hormuz each day, compared with approximately 20 million barrels per day previously.
3. Iran’s oil exports were devastated
Trump shared a graphic showing Iran’s oil exports. It claimed that exports of nearly 2 million barrels per day at the beginning of 2025 fell to almost zero in 2026.
The graphic shows some recovery in the middle, but exports appear to fall back to extremely low levels in the third quarter.
4. Targeting inflation: ‘Very high inflation in Iran’
After this, Trump shared a graphic about inflation in Iran. It said: “Iran has hyperinflation.”
Hyperinflation refers to a situation in which the prices of goods in a country begin to rise very rapidly and the value of its currency falls sharply.
The graphic attempted to show Iran’s deteriorating economic situation. Through it, Trump tried to convey that the pressure on Iran’s economy is not limited only to the oil business.
5. Showed the falling value of the rial-‘The currency has been ruined’
Trump shared another graphic about the Iranian currency, the rial. It read: “Iran Currency Is Destroyed.”
According to the graphic, at the beginning of 2025, one dollar was worth around 900,000 Iranian rials. In the latest figures shown, this had risen to more than 2.27 million rials.
4. Trump appeared on a map of Iran-sent a direct message to Tehran
Trump also shared a graphic featuring a map of Iran. It showed his own picture placed on the map of Iran.
Through this post, Trump conveyed his message about his pressure on Iran and U.S. actions there in an even more aggressive manner.
6. AI image of bombing on Kharg-‘Bye-Bye Kharg’
Trump’s most aggressive post was about Kharg Island. He shared an AI-generated image showing a fighter jet moving toward an Iranian oil facility, with explosions visible in the surrounding area. The image read: “Bye-bye Kharg.”
Kharg is Iran’s major oil export hub. Historically, a large portion of the country’s crude oil exports has passed through this island. Therefore, damage to Kharg’s oil infrastructure could have a major impact on Iran’s revenue.
7. Described Iran as a Falling Nation
In the final installment of his posts, Trump shared a map of Iran and wrote that Iran is becoming a failed nation.
Trump says that Iran’s economy and the country’s system are weakening badly, and that the government is failing to handle the situation.
In 7 posts made over the course of about an hour, Trump targeted Iran’s oil economy, inflation, currency, and strategic sites. He also continued to apply pressure over the Strait of Hormuz.
