Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk said that if there is no concrete assurance from the government on the Ladakh issue, the agitation will be resumed from 19 to 24 September.
He expressed disappointment over the 9 September meeting in Delhi between leaders from Leh and Kargil. He said no new proposal was made at the meeting, and the government gave no clear response to Ladakh’s demands.
According to the leaders, the government also did not assure them that there would be no major changes to rules related to local governance and land. The main outcome of the meeting was a decision to hold the next meeting in October. Wangchuk said this is reducing trust in the government and increasing distrust.
