The Asian Champions Trophy Punjab 2026 will begin in Jalandhar on 27 October, with the final to be played in Mohali on 5 November. Teams from India, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, China and Korea will take part in the tournament. Oman and Bangladesh have been kept as reserve teams. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made the announcement today.

The tournament logo was also unveiled during the event. Hockey India players were present as well. The government has allocated a budget of ₹25 crore 40 lakh. Entry for spectators will be free throughout the tournament. The government will make all necessary arrangements. Punjab will now have men’s and women’s teams in the Hockey India League.

Players to tour sports industry and fields The players attending the tournament will also be introduced to Punjab’s sports industry. They will be taken to hockey grounds as well as sports industry facilities. They will also get to sample traditional Punjabi cuisine. Along with serving them sarson ka saag and makki di roti, there are plans to take the players to Amritsar, the Wagah border and Jallianwala Bagh. Efforts will be made to give the players a complete experience of Punjab’s culture and heritage.

Former Hockey Players Will Also Be Honoured Children will also receive special attention during this tournament. Cultural programmes will be organised during every match. Former and legendary hockey players will be honoured. The Punjab government is also working towards organising junior and senior hockey leagues. In addition, Punjab teams in both the women’s and men’s categories will participate in the Hockey India League.
