Karnataka Home Minister and Congress leader Priyank Kharge has defended the state government’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram at government programmes.
Amid the BJP’s demand that all the stanzas be sung, he challenged party leaders BY Vijayendra and R. Ashoka.
Kharge said the two leaders should sing all the stanzas of Vande Mataram without using a teleprompter or looking at a piece of paper. He said, “If they manage to do so, I will resign.”
