<\/picture><\/div>\nStudent Darshan Minama committed suicide on Sunday<\/span><\/p>\n A 17-year-old student, residing at the Tribal Girls’ Hostel in Katara Hills, Bhopal, and preparing for her 12th-grade studies and JEE, committed suicide by hanging herself on Sunday evening. Sunday was her 17th birthday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When her friends arrived with a cake to celebrate her birthday, the door did not open for a long time. After the central lock was opened, the student was found hanging in her room. Police found a suicide note in the room. In it, she apologised to her parents, stating that she was responsible for her suicide.<\/p>\n The deceased has been identified as Darshan Minama, daughter of Ramesh Minama, a resident of Alirajpur. She was a 12th-grade student at Anant Higher Secondary School and was preparing for JEE from Ascent Career Point.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Roommate had gone to village 20 days ago<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the police, Darshan had been living in the hostel since September 2025. On Sunday evening around 5:30 PM, she returned to her room from coaching. Her roommate, Manisha Nargawa, had gone to her village on leave for the past 20 days, due to which she was alone in the room.<\/p>\n Around 6 PM, other hostel students arrived at her room to celebrate her birthday, but the door did not open for a long time. After continuously knocking on the door for four to five minutes, the central lock opened. Upon entering, they saw that the student was hanging from a rope noose. The hostel warden immediately informed the police.<\/p>\n Suicide note found from the room<\/strong><\/p>\n Upon receiving information about the incident, police, FSL team, and a photographer arrived at the scene. A suicide note was also found from the room, which is being investigated. In the suicide note, the student stated that she was responsible for her suicide and apologised to her parents. Police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.<\/p>\n In the preliminary investigation, police stated that the student was in depression; however, the reasons for the suicide can only be confirmed after the investigation is complete. The post-mortem will be conducted on Tuesday in the presence of her family members.<\/p>\n A student had committed suicide in this same hostel 10 months ago as well<\/strong><\/p>\n Approximately 10 months ago, a female student had also committed suicide in the same government hostel of the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs Department located in Katara Hills. The deceased, Vandana Markam (17), was a resident of Balaghat. She was a 12th-grade student and was preparing for competitive exams from a coaching institute located in MP Nagar. Police did not find any suicide note at the scene, due to which the reasons for the suicide could not be immediately ascertained.<\/p>\n Preliminary investigation revealed that Vandana had returned to the hostel from her home district on October 26, 2025, after Diwali. According to the hostel warden, she had taken leave from coaching that day, citing a stomach infection.
