{"id":29434,"date":"2026-07-29T12:28:28","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T06:58:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petrolnews.in\/live\/ryan-ten-doeschate-appointed-as-knight-riders-head-of-cricket-strategy\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T12:28:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T06:58:28","slug":"ryan-ten-doeschate-appointed-as-knight-riders-head-of-cricket-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/petrolnews.in\/live\/ryan-ten-doeschate-appointed-as-knight-riders-head-of-cricket-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan ten Doeschate Appointed as Knight Riders&#8217; Head of Cricket Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has been appointed as the Head of Cricket Strategy at Knight Riders Sport.<\/p>\n<p>He will be returning to the franchise cricket that will oversee talent acquisition, squad planning and development across its various leagues.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan ten Doeschate will double up as the assistant coach for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the UAE\u2019s ILT20 and Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket (MLC).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Tendo back to the Knight Riders family,\u201d Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said. \u201cHis deep understanding of our philosophy, combined with his experience across franchise and international cricket, makes him ideally suited for this role. He will help shape the next phase of growth across the Knight Riders ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ryan ten Doeschate was previously associated as a player with KKR in 2011 and was subsequently part of their title-winning squads in 2012 and 2014. This is a unique opportunity to work with the coaching &amp; analytics teams across our global franchises to strengthen our scouting\/player development systems, and to build a long-term cricket strategy,\u201d Doeschate said.<\/p>\n<p>While Ryan ten Doeschate had the option of seeking an extension like India bowling coach Morne Morkel, it is understood that the former Netherlands captain was keen on exploring opportunities on the franchise circuit.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Ryan ten Doeschate, T Dilip has also been relieved from his role after a year\u2019s extension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRyan and Dilip\u2019s contracts have ended, and we are not extending them,\u201d said BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia. \u201cDilip was already on a one-year extension, which ended on June 8, and Ryan\u2019s ended on June 10.
