<\/picture><\/div>\nA petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court against state minister and Surkhi Assembly MLA Govind Singh Rajput, alleging that he concealed assets worth around \u20b9100 crore in his election affidavit.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n The petition was filed on Friday by Rajkumar Singh, a resident of Rehli in Sagar district. A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradeep Mittal is scheduled to hear the matter on August 4.<\/p>\n Petitioner alleges assets were concealed in 2023 affidavit<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the public interest litigation (PIL), Rajput did not disclose complete details of his assets in the affidavit submitted during the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections and allegedly concealed assets worth around \u20b9100 crore.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The petitioner claimed that he had approached the Election Commission with a complaint on March 21, 2025. He said he moved the High Court after no action was taken on his complaint.<\/p>\n Senior Supreme Court advocate Devdutt Kamat is expected to appear for the petitioner during the hearing.<\/p>\n Rajput\u2019s lawyer says similar plea was already dismissed<\/strong><\/p>\n Rajput\u2019s advocate Vivek Ranjan Pandey said a similar petition had earlier been filed in the High Court by Congress leader Neeraj Sharma, alleging that the minister had concealed assets in his election affidavit. The petition, he said, was dismissed by the court.<\/p>\n Pandey said two separate petitions were filed by Congress candidate Neeraj Sharma and Congress leader Rajkumar Dhanora, both making allegations regarding concealment of assets by Rajput. The petitions were heard together.<\/p>\n According to Pandey, the petitions were filed on the basis of \u201cfalse and misleading facts\u201d with the intention of damaging Rajput\u2019s reputation. He maintained that Rajput had provided complete details of his own and his dependent wife’s assets in his election affidavit and had concealed no information.<\/p>\n One petition dismissed, second to be heard on August 4<\/strong><\/p>\n Pandey said the High Court dismissed Neeraj Sharma\u2019s petition on July 29, 2026.<\/p>\n He added that in Rajkumar Dhanora\u2019s petition, the petitioner\u2019s lawyer sought time to argue the matter. The court has now scheduled August 4 for a hearing on the maintainability of the petition.<\/p>\n Pandey further argued that both petitions were filed nearly two years after the Assembly elections and were contrary to the provisions governing election-related disputes.<\/p>\n Govind Singh Rajput calls allegations \u2018false and misleading\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Minister Govind Singh Rajput denied the allegations and said he had contested seven Assembly elections and had never concealed any information.<\/p>\n He said no election petition had ever been filed against him in the past and alleged that the petitions were filed only to gain \u201ccheap publicity\u201d and damage his image.<\/p>\n Rajput said one of the petitions had already been dismissed by the High Court, while the other is yet to be heard.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court against state minister and Surkhi Assembly MLA Govind Singh Rajput, alleging that he concealed assets worth around \u20b9100 crore in his election affidavit.
