Keot was reportedly a close associate of former Kanchrapara municipal chairman Kamal Adhikari.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\"><span class=\"e913fbaa d3886593\"><strong>Detainee dies at Kalyani hospital<\/strong><\/span><strong\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">According to police, a court had remanded Keot to five days of police custody. He reportedly fell ill on Saturday and was taken to JNM Hospital in Kalyani for treatment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">He later died at the hospital, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Banerjee was travelling to Keot\u2019s residence following his death when the protest took place.
