<\/p>\n A 33-year-old actress had filed a complaint against him alleging several serious charges including exploitation and blackmailing.<\/p>\n Incident from 2016, case registered now<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the complaint received by Mumbai Police, the actress first met Shakeel Noorani in 2016 during an award function in Lokhandwala. He talked to her about an upcoming project and asked her to contact him for work.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the complaint, later the actress went to Shakeel Noorani’s house in Malwani to read the script. There, Noorani gave her a soft drink to drink, after which she became unconscious.<\/p>\n Allegation of threatening by showing video after regaining consciousness<\/strong><\/p>\n The actress alleged in the FIR that after regaining consciousness, Shakeel Noorani showed her a video of the actress on his mobile. He threatened that if she contacted the police or informed her family, he would circulate the video.<\/p>\n The actress alleges that Noorani used this alleged video to threaten her and sexually assaulted her multiple times. She also stated that after sexual relations, Noorani repeatedly gave her contraceptive pills.<\/p>\n Police arrested him at a farmhouse in Satara<\/strong><\/p>\n After the FIR was registered, the police began an investigation. The investigation revealed that Noorani was staying at a farmhouse located in the Medha area of Satara district. A Malwani police officer stated that after the FIR was registered, Noorani remained in hiding for 40 days. The police team also searched his son’s house in Lokhandwala, Andheri, but found no trace of him.<\/p>\n The officer said, “With technical assistance, we located him at a farmhouse in Medha, Satara district. Our colleagues from Medha police station took him into custody. After that, our team took him into our possession.”<\/p>\n Sent to police custody till August 12<\/strong><\/p>\n Police presented Shakeel Noorani in Borivali Holiday Court on Saturday. The court sent him to police custody till August 12.<\/p>\n Noorani has been arrested by Malwani police in a case of rape and sexual harassment. A case has been registered against him, while according to the complainant, the incident is from 2016 and the case has been registered now.<\/p>\n DCP (Zone 2) Sandeep Ghuge said that the police team has been gathering information since the complaint was registered. Noorani’s lawyer Vikas Singh told TOI that his client has been falsely implicated. He said that the matter is in court, so he will not comment further on it.<\/p>\n Noorani made films between 1991 and 2000<\/strong><\/p>\n Shakeel Noorani made films in the 1990s and early 2000s. His films include ‘Vishnu Deva’ (1991), ‘Shriman Aashiq’ (1993), ‘Bade Dilwala’ (1999), and ‘Joru Ka Ghulam’ (2000).<\/p>\n Had an old dispute with Sanjay Dutt<\/strong><\/p>\n Shakeel Noorani was previously in the news due to a dispute with Sanjay Dutt. A Mumbai court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Sanjay Dutt in a case of threatening Shakeel Noorani.<\/p>\n Noorani had approached the Bombay High Court alleging that Sanjay Dutt had taken an advance of 50 lakh rupees to work in his film ‘Jaan Ki Baazi’.
