Today marks the final day of Parliament\u2019s Monsoon Session. Since the session began on July 20, Opposition parties have repeatedly protested over the NEET paper leak and alleged police action against students at Jantar Mantar.<\/p>\n

Against this backdrop, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written to the Lok Sabha Speaker, offering to address Parliament on the Jantar Mantar protest. He is expected to respond on Thursday, provided time is allocated for the discussion.<\/p>\n

However, Rahul Gandhi said the Opposition was not seeking a \u201clecture\u201d from Shah. He instead demanded that the government first clarify who ordered the opening of fire on protesting students.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “I am completely disappointed. The government wants a discussion, but the opposition is running away.” He said the session could be extended if the opposition is ready.<\/p>\n

3 August:<\/strong> Opposition members created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha over the issue of theft of Ram Temple offerings. The Lok Sabha passed a bill without discussion to increase the number of Supreme Court judges (including the CJI) from 34 to 38.<\/p>\n

4 August:<\/strong> A debate took place in the Rajya Sabha between Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. Kharge stated that the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was formed by the central government. The government should answer the House on the donation theft issue.<\/p>\n

5 August:<\/strong> Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju held a 50-minute meeting with Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. The government aims to pass the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, which increases the number of Lok Sabha seats to 816 and implements 33% reservation for women.<\/p>\n

27 July:<\/strong> Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held discussions with leaders of opposition parties regarding the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.<\/p>\n

28 July:<\/strong> The appointment of Prahlad Joshi as Education Minister sparked uproar in the Lok Sabha. Outside Parliament, Rahul Gandhi accused the government of appointing a rapist as Education Minister.<\/p>\n

29 July:<\/strong> The Lok Sabha passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, related to paper leaks, by voice vote on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

30 July:<\/strong> The amendment bill related to the paper leak was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, after passing in the Lok Sabha. The bill will now go to the President. Upon receiving his assent, it will become law.<\/p>\n

31 July:<\/strong> Opposition MPs protested in Parliament on Friday over the theft of Ram Temple offerings. MP Pappu Yadav arrived disguised as a priest, carrying a donation box.<\/p>\n

20 July:<\/strong> Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Kharge, raised the issue of police action during the student protest at Jantar Mantar. He alleged that the government was resorting to lathicharge to suppress the students’ voices and demanded an answer from the Home Minister.<\/p>\n

21 July:<\/strong> Before the start of the Parliament session, the NDA and the Indian alliance held separate meetings. Opposition uproar disrupted proceedings in both houses.<\/p>\n
