Sonam Wangchuk released a video on Thursday and shared his views on the country and its future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Activist Sonam Wangchuk, referring to India’s per capita income, said that if the current situation continues, India will not be able to become a developed country by 2047.<\/p>\n

He said that even after the resignation of the Education Minister, he does not see hope for major changes from the new minister. The country’s progress is directly linked to its education system. As long as education remains backward, the country’s future will also remain backward.<\/p>\n

Wangchuk appealed to people to start India’s second freedom movement. He asked people to suggest names of selfless, fearless and people of character who can help make the country’s future better.<\/p>\n

He released a video on Thursday. In it, he said that he had not been feeling well for the past few days. During this time, he thought a lot about the country and its future.<\/p>\n

Wangchuk said- Neighboring country has moved ahead of India<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Many neighboring countries that were behind or equal to India 50 years ago have now moved far ahead. Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are examples of this.<\/li>\n
  • If India is to remain a respected country in the world by 2047, then major changes are needed.<\/li>\n
  • Problems related to governance and system in the country cannot be limited to any one political party. Voices of dissent have been suppressed even during the governments of different parties.<\/li>\n
  • Political change occurred after the anti-corruption movement of 2012-13. Despite the change of government, corruption and injustice did not end. Now these problems have taken a new form and have become more serious than before.<\/li>\n
  • A change is necessary in the way we choose political leadership to take the country forward. India needs a peaceful revolution so that the country can get the right leadership.<\/li>\n
  • We are looking for people who are selfless, fearless, of good character and capable. Don’t know where such people are in the country. I appeal to people to suggest the name of at least one such person from their area and country.<\/li>\n
  • The names of these people will be a gift for me on Independence Day. I want to meet such people who can help in creating a new map of the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Wangchuk spent 170 days in jail<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Wangchuk had earlier spent 170 days in Jodhpur jail demanding full statehood for Ladakh. He was accused that during the hunger strike on September 24, 2025, violence occurred in Leh, in which 4 people died and 90 people were injured.<\/p>\n

    The government accused Wangchuk of inciting violence. Two days later, on September 26, he was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) and sent to Jodhpur jail.<\/p>\n
