The legal controversy stemmed from insensitive and offensive remarks made against specially-abled persons on Raina\u2019s popular online show, <em>India\u2019s Got Latent<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><iframe frameborder=\"0\" srcdoc=\"\" title=\"twitter\" class=\"twitter\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Following Allahabadia&#8217;s appearance on the show, multiple complaints were filed across several states accusing the creators of promoting obscenity and using indecent language. The show features bold comedy content. The two shows that sparked controversy were released in February. The shows contained remarks about parents and women that <em>Dainik Bhaskar<\/em> cannot discuss here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">FIRs were filed in several states against Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia, and others in this case. Ranveer filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the quashing of the FIRs. While the court did not grant any relief, it ordered the central government to tighten the rules.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\"><strong>Specially abled related case:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">On the same show, <em>India&#8217;s Got Latent<\/em>, Samay Raina also mocked the specially abled. This incident also occurred in February, and the SMA Foundation filed a petition against it. It was alleged that Samay had mocked the specially-abled child, especially the visually impaired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The court ordered comedians Samay Raina, Vipul Goyal, Balraj Paramjit Singh Ghai, Sonali Thakkar, and Nishant Jagdish Tanwar to feature success stories of specially abled persons on their shows to raise funds for their welfare. The six comedians, including Samay, said they would perform two such shows a month to raise funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The CJI further said, &#8220;You (Samay) and your team will have to be very careful in the future. Whether domestically or abroad, someone made comments in Canada as well.
