Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the Congress had forgotten Vande Mataram<\/em> for the sake of vote-bank politics. He said that on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the national song a new lease of life from the Red Fort.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at the Congress’s shamelessness. Vande Mataram<\/em> was being sung at the Congress headquarters when Congress leader Sonia Gandhi asked the party president to stop the song midway. We all watched it on television. After 80 years, Bankim Babu’s (Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay) song is once again receiving the respect it deserves, but even this does not seem acceptable to Sonia Gandhi.<\/p>\n

\u201cSonia ji, 140 crore people are watching you. The people of this country will never forgive you for this sin. If Congress members have even a little shame left, they should fold their hands and apologise to Bankim Babu’s immortal soul and to the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amit Shah is on a visit to Rajasthan. On Sunday afternoon, he unveiled a 21-foot-tall statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Nimbahera, Chittorgarh.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a public meeting at Ambedkar College’s sports ground, Shah said, \u201cGehlot ji, his Leader of Opposition and the state Congress president keep fighting among themselves.\u201d During the event, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 944 development projects worth \u20b95,659 crore across 15 districts, including Chittorgarh.<\/p>\n

While addressing a public meeting in Nimbahera, Shah targeted Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Independence Day celebrations at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Vande Mataram was being sung when Sonia Gandhi turned back and gestured. Rahul Gandhi also gestured, which prompted Amit Shah to comment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vajpayee statue weighs 4,000 kg<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Vajpayee statue has been installed at the Mini Atal Memorial built at JK Circle in Nimbahera. The statue weighs 4,000 kg and is made of Ashtadhatu<\/em> (an eight-metal alloy). It has been placed on an 8-foot-high platform and was crafted by artisans from Jaipur.<\/p>\n

Two additional platforms have been built alongside the statue. One depicts the Pokhran nuclear tests conducted during Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister, while the other shows him delivering speeches in different poses.<\/p>\n

Appointment letters to be given to youths in Alwar<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amit Shah is scheduled to reach Vijaynagar Ground in Alwar at around 3pm. There, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth \u20b96,262 crore.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi and crop insurance scheme funds will be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts. Appointment letters for government jobs will also be handed over to 10,580 youths.<\/p>\n

Shah arrived in Udaipur on Saturday night, where he was welcomed by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.<\/p>\n

Khairthal-Tijara Congress president detained<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to Alwar, police detained several leaders, including the Khairthal-Tijara Congress president.<\/p>\n
