The family alleges that approximately \u20b91.90 lakh were spent on constructing the martyr’s statue, but even after more than three months, the bills for this amount have not been paid.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The family says that the administration had assured prompt payment, but so far they have only been running around to various officials. The family has also expressed displeasure regarding the programs organized in honor of the martyr. They say that the unveiling of the martyr’s statue was to take place on 7 May.<\/p>\n For this, Hodel’s BJP MLA Harendra Ramratan was personally invited to his home to participate in the program, but neither the MLA arrived nor did any senior official from the administration come. The family’s question is that when the administration and public representatives did not attend the unveiling of the martyr’s statue, then what is the point of accepting the honor to be given on Independence Day.<\/p>\n Lance Naik Dinesh Sharma was martyred on May 7, 2025. -File Photo<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wife says CM\u2019s 2 promises still unfulfilled<\/strong><\/p>\n The martyr’s wife Seema said, \u201cChief Minister Nayab Saini had announced during a meeting with the family on 15 May, 2025 to rename village Mohammadpur as Dineshpur and build a park in the martyr’s name. Both announcements have not been fulfilled yet.\u201d<\/p>\n The family had also demanded to name the school after the martyr and write his name at the village entrance. Out of all these, only the school’s name has been changed. DC\u2019s PA says payment process in final stage<\/strong><\/p>\n DC Dr. Jayendra Chhillar’s PA informed, \u201cThe process of payment for the statue bills is in the final stage. The bills are to be paid by the District Council. The file has been sent from the DC office to the CEO of the District Council. All bills will be paid soon.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Hodal SDM Balina Rana denied having information about the martyr’s family refusing to accept the honor. He said, \u201cI have no information about this. Only the martyr’s family members can tell about this.\u201d<\/p>\n MLA Harendra Ramratan said, \u201cI provided assistance of \u20b940 lakh to the family from my personal fund. On the day of the statue unveiling program, I had other programs scheduled beforehand. Secondly, I was not aware of the time schedule. That’s why I could not reach there.\u201d<\/p>\n Dinesh Sharma’s brother Pushpendra said that the work on the martyr’s memorial is still incomplete.<\/span><\/p>\n Who was Dinesh Sharma and how was he martyred?<\/strong><\/span> Resident of Mohammadpur village in Palwal<\/strong><\/p>\n Dinesh Sharma was born on January 30, 1993 in Mohammadpur village of Hodal assembly constituency in Palwal. He joined the 5 FD Regiment of the Indian Army on 15 September, 2014. His family includes his wife, two sons and a daughter.<\/p>\n The youngest son is 10 years old. Dinesh was the eldest among five brothers in his family. His two younger brothers Kapil and Hardatt are also Agniveers in the army. One brother Pushpendra is studying, while Vishnu helps his father in farming.<\/p>\n Shaheed’s wife Seema Devi has been given a job as a clerk in the Education Department by the Haryana government. This job has been provided under the government assistance given to martyr families. Prior to this, she used to practice law.<\/p>\n Dinesh Sharma martyred in Poonch on 7 May<\/strong><\/p>\n Dinesh Sharma was posted on the LoC in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir. On 7 May, 2025, after an air strike conducted by India under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan fired across the border. When firing started from Pakistan’s side, Dinesh was retaliating along with his colleagues.<\/p>\n During this, a bomb from the Pakistani side fell in front of them. Dinesh and four of his colleagues were injured in the blast. Later, Dinesh succumbed in the hospital. Just some time before his martyrdom, he had received a promotion to the rank of Lance Naik.<\/p>\n On 15 May, 2025, Haryana CM Nayab Saini reached the home of Dinesh Sharma to pay tribute<\/span><\/p>\n Expenses over tribute meets controversy<\/strong><\/p>\n The mortal remains of the martyr reached his village on May 8, where the last rites were performed with state honors. A tribute meeting was organized on May 20. The martyr’s father alleges that Sarpanch Kumar Yugpurush’s father Bhuparam Pathak took a total of \u20b952 thousand from him in the name of expenses for the tribute meeting.<\/p>\n According to the father, \u201cOn 17 May, I gave \u20b922 thousand in cash at home. After that, \u20b910 thousand, \u20b95 thousand and \u20b915 thousand were taken at different times. I was told that this amount would be given later from the panchayat budget.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Bhuparam Pathak has rejected these allegations. He says, \u201cI did not take money from anyone and bore the entire expense of the condolence meeting from my own pocket.\u201d<\/p>\n Updates on renaming the park and village<\/strong><\/p>\n It was said that a martyrdom site and park would be built on the land where the martyr’s last rites were performed. According to Sarpanch Bhuparam Pathak, \u201cThis is 4 kanal 11 marla land and the place where the park was announced to be built is registered in the name of a pond. The panchayat cannot build a park there. The panchayat had sent a proposal to the DC in this regard, but it was not approved.\u201d<\/p>\n A gram sabha meeting was held on July 29 under the supervision of officials to change the name of the village. The village has a population of around 1,200 and 620 voters. 152 people attended the meeting.<\/p>\n According to BDPO Naresh, \u201cA proposal was placed in the gram sabha, but consensus could not be reached on changing the village name from Mohammadpur to Dineshpur. After this, signatures of those present were taken and a letter was sent to the DC informing about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Brother alleges library, memorial work incomplete<\/strong><\/p>\n The martyr’s brother Pushpendra said, \u201cThe library being built in the village is lying incomplete. The work on the martyr’s memorial has also not been completed. Dinesh Sharma’s name has not been written on both entrance gates of the village and the village road has not been renamed after him.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cThe site for park construction has not been decided yet and the process of changing the village’s name has also not progressed.\u201d<\/p>\n Gained national recognition after 13 months<\/strong><\/p>\n The central government officially made public the names of six soldiers martyred during Operation Sindoor after 13 months. These names have been included in the ‘Roll of Honour’ on the website of the National War Memorial located in New Delhi. Among these is the name of Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, a resident of village Mohammadpur in Palwal.<\/p>\n Dinesh Kumar’s name has also been inscribed in the 2025 section on the 3D wall of the National War Memorial. In the ‘Tyag Chakra’ (Circle of Sacrifice) of the memorial, there are 16 circular granite walls on which the names, ranks and units of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the country after independence are recorded.<\/p>\n Two of the six martyrs have also received posthumous gallantry awards.
