The PM Cares Fund was established in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Domestic donations to the PM CARES Fund fell by 30% to approximately \u20b9479 crore in 2024-25. Foreign contributions also declined by 18% to \u20b992.8 lakh.<\/p>\n

According to the fund\u2019s latest audit report, the PM CARES Fund had \u20b98,452 crore as of 31 March 2025, compared with \u20b97,173 crore a year earlier.<\/p>\n

Of the total, \u20b97,846 crore was held in fixed deposits, while \u20b9605 crore was kept in savings bank accounts.<\/p>\n

\u20b987.8 Lakh spent under PM CARES for children<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2023-24, the fund received \u20b9681.8 crore in domestic donations and \u20b91.13 crore in foreign contributions.<\/p>\n

During 2024-25, \u20b987.8 lakh was spent under the PM CARES for Children Scheme, compared with \u20b915.37 crore in the previous financial year.<\/p>\n

Overall, \u20b987.85 lakh was disbursed from the fund in 2024-25, down from \u20b915.6 crore in 2023-24.<\/p>\n

Donations have fallen sharply since 2020-21<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to an analysis of audited statements available on the PM CARES website, domestic voluntary contributions were highest at \u20b97,184 crore in 2020-21. They fell to \u20b91,896 crore in 2021-22 and \u20b9909 crore in 2022-23 before declining further to around \u20b9479 crore in 2024-25.<\/p>\n

Foreign contributions also dropped sharply, from \u20b9495 crore in 2020-21 to \u20b940 crore in 2021-22 and \u20b92.57 crore in 2022-23. The latest figure of \u20b992.8 lakh is the lowest since \u20b939.7 lakh was received in 2019-20.<\/p>\n

The Narendra Modi government established the PM CARES Fund to provide relief during emergencies and crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic. It is registered as a public charitable trust, with the Prime Minister serving as its ex-officio chairman.<\/p>\n

The fund receives voluntary contributions and does not receive money through the government budget.<\/p>\n

Funds used for oxygen plants and ventilators<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the COVID-19 pandemic, PM CARES funds were used to strengthen emergency healthcare infrastructure, including the installation of oxygen plants and the purchase of ventilators.<\/p>\n

In 2021-22, \u20b91,703 crore was spent on Pressure Swing Adsorption oxygen plants and \u20b9835 crore on ventilators. The fund\u2019s total expenditure that financial year was approximately \u20b91,938 crore.<\/p>\n
