They sought the reconstitution of the High-Powered Inquiry Committee (HPEC) set up by the court.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the five-member committee, headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice R. Subhash Reddy, is functioning under the \u201cdirect supervision\u201d of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The court also made it clear that the matter has not been disposed of and remains pending. Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V.
