<\/p>\n Actually, the grand finale of Miss Universe India 2026 was held on August 23 at G Studios in Jaipur. Former Miss Universe India Urvashi Rautela was part of the judging panel. Along with her, the panel included India’s first Miss Universe Sushmita Sen; Miss Universe India 2024, Rhea Singha; environmentalist and film producer Pragya Kapoor; and former Miss India Universe and Miss Universe runner-up Celina Jaitly.<\/p>\n For the event, Urvashi wore a tricolor-inspired gown. Following this, some users on social media raised objections. One user wrote that wearing the Indian national flag as clothing or printing it directly on dress material is not permitted under the Flag Code of India. Other users also expressed their displeasure regarding the matter.<\/p>\n A user had tagged the Ministry of Home Affairs, calling it an insult to the national flag.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Urvashi said – The gown is not an exact copy of the national flag<\/strong><\/span> Speaking to Hindustan Times about the matter, Urvashi said that I carry my country with me not just as my nationality, but as a part of my identity. I wanted to wear something that would not only tell where I am from, but also what India means to me. This thought led to the idea of this couture dress.<\/p>\n Urvashi stated that the gown’s silhouette, color placement, embellishments, detailing, and production were crafted as a fashion statement. According to her, it was not just about placing three colors on the dress, but about transforming national sentiment into artistic expression.<\/p>\n Responding to the controversy, she said that there are several clear differences between the Indian national flag and this gown. According to her, the gown is not an exact replica of the national flag, but a couture design created using elements inspired by the tricolor.<\/p>\n She explained that deliberate changes were made to the color shades, direction, proportions, material, and the central symbol. The gown uses three colors and a central motif like a circle.<\/p>\n According to Urvashi, the horizontal color stripes of the gown were made vertical, the emblem was transformed into jewelry, and sequins and fringes were used.
