Bollywood actor Salman Khan has expressed grief over the death of filmmaker Kuku Kohli. Salman shared a post on X, praying for the departed soul and offering his condolences to Kohli’s family, including his wife, veteran actress Aruna Irani.<\/p>\n

Salman\u2019s long association with Aruna Irani and her family<\/strong><\/p>\n

Salman Khan has shared a long professional association with Aruna Irani and Kuku Kohli’s family. He worked with Aruna in films such as Sapne Sajan Ke<\/em> (1992) and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam<\/em> (2002).<\/p>\n

Kuku Kohli’s daughter, Karishma Kohli, has also worked with Salman professionally. She served as an assistant director with filmmaker Kabir Khan on Salman’s films Ek Tha Tiger<\/em> and Bajrangi Bhaijaan<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Started career by working with Raj Kapoor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kuku Kohli started his film career by working as an assistant on Raj Kapoor’s film Bobby.<\/p>\n

He spent many years with him learning the nuances of filmmaking. Later, he was the second unit director for the film Betaab. This film, starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh, was a hit. After this, he also worked on Arjun.<\/p>\n

Kuku Kohli was an assistant to Raj Kapoor in films like Bobby, Prem Rog, and Satyam Shivam Sundaram.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kuku Kohli began his journey as a director in 1991 with Phool Aur Kaante. The film became a hit and established Ajay Devgn in Bollywood. He went on to direct films such as Kohram and Suhaag. Suhaag marked the first time Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar shared the screen.<\/p>\n

In 1995, Kuku Kohli directed Haqeeqat, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The film earned nominations in seven categories at the Filmfare Awards, including a Best Director nomination for Kuku Kohli.<\/p>\n

He later directed films including Zulmi, Anari No. 1 and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa. His final film as a director, Woh Tera Naam Tha, was released in 2004.<\/p>\n

Kuku Kohli was married twice. His first wife was Rita Kohli, and the couple had two daughters, Pooja and Karishma.<\/p>\n

When Aruna developed feelings for Kuku, she learned that he was already married to Rita Kohli and had two daughters. Despite knowing this, Aruna continued her relationship with him. The couple got married in 1990 but kept their marriage private for several years.
