Police identified them as Sumit and Mohit, both residents of Sonipat. A \u20b950,000 reward had been announced for each, and they were allegedly linked to the Gogi gang.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Shamli SP Narendra Pratap Singh said the two shooters were fleeing towards Sonipat on a motorcycle. Acting on a tip-off, police surrounded them on Monday morning. Fearing arrest, the suspects opened fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Police retaliated, leading to around 20 rounds being fired from both sides. Sumit and Mohit were shot during the encounter. Police took them to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The encounter took place in the Industrial police station area. According to police, the two men, along with two other accomplices, had allegedly shot dead Ankit outside a gym five days ago.
