<\/picture><\/div>\nThe BJP has slammed Congress after the removal of the Forest Minister of Telangana, Konda Surekha, from the state Cabinet. BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said on Saturday that there was a wide gap between Congress\u2019 words and actions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n He alleged that while the Congress talks about giving women greater representation in politics, the number of women ministers remains very low in states ruled by the party. Trivedi said the Congress is in power in four states, but there are only three women ministers across these governments.<\/p>\n He said Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka do not have a single woman minister. Kerala has two women ministers, while in Telangana, one of the two women ministers was removed. This leaves just three women ministers across the four states, he said. Trivedi called this an injustice to women.<\/p>\n Questions raised over Surekha’s removal<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy removed Konda Surekha from the Cabinet with immediate effect on Thursday. The decision came amid a controversy over remarks made by Surekha\u2019s daughter against the Chief Minister and some others. Surekha criticised the action as unfair and accused Revanth Reddy of practising \u201cblackmail politics\u201d.<\/p>\n Sudhanshu Trivedi said senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge had remained silent on the issue. He pointed out that Kharge was the same leader who had written to Prime Minister Modi seeking the early implementation of 33% reservation for women.<\/p>\n Trivedi said the Congress talks about women\u2019s reservation, but the situation is different when it comes to giving women ministerial positions in its own states. He alleged that there was a contradiction between the Congress\u2019s views, statements, and actions on women\u2019s political representation.<\/p>\n Sudhanshu takes a dig at Rahul’s \u2018Smash Patriarchy\u2019 slogan<\/strong><\/span> Sudhanshu Trivedi also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi\u2019s slogan of \u2018Smash Patriarchy\u2019, saying it meant ending patriarchy. He said the Congress raises this slogan while, on the other hand, women ministers are being removed one by one.<\/p>\n He also accused Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge of working under Rahul Gandhi\u2019s influence. Trivedi said Kharge is 84 years old and should explain the ground reality to Rahul Gandhi. He also referred to Rahul as a \u201cyoung man with a white beard\u201d.<\/p>\n Claim that Modi government has the highest number of women ministers<\/strong><\/span> Sudhanshu Trivedi compared the Congress\u2019 record with that of the Modi government at the Centre. He claimed that the Narendra Modi government has the highest number of women ministers in the country\u2019s history so far. He said the Modi government\u2019s record on women\u2019s representation is different from that of the Congress.<\/p>\n Congress targeted over Jharkhand examination case<\/strong><\/span> Trivedi also raised the alleged irregularities in the recruitment examination for Assistant Conservator of Forests and Forest Range Officers in Jharkhand. He alleged that the investigation had found evidence suggesting that the question papers were taken out of the strong room and altered.<\/p>\n The BJP leader described the incident as not merely a \u201cpaper leak\u201d but a \u201cpaper loot\u201d. He said political parties that raise their voice over examination-related issues in Delhi were silent on the Jharkhand case.<\/p>\n Taking a jibe at this silence, Trivedi compared Congress leaders to Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s \u201cthree monkeys\u201d. He said some people neither want to see, hear nor speak about the matter.
