Indian companies are showing interest in expanding their business in the Russian market. At the same time, Russia also wants to increase the reach of its companies and products in India.<\/p>\n

The two sides may also discuss transport and related international projects.<\/p>\n

The Russia-Ukraine war and the current situation may also come up during the meeting. The two leaders may discuss the situation in the war and its impact.<\/p>\n

The ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf could also be part of the talks. Russia has said that developments in the Gulf are affecting the global economy. Against this backdrop, the two leaders may also discuss their economic and strategic implications.<\/p>\n

What is BRICS?<\/strong><\/p>\n

BRICS is a group of 11 major emerging economies. They are Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The group aims to promote economic, political and social cooperation among these countries. It initially had four members and was called BRIC. The name was coined in 2001 by Jim O\u2019Neill, an economist at Goldman Sachs.<\/p>\n

India is chairing BRICS in 2026. The 18th BRICS Summit is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 12-13.<\/p>\n
