The Supreme Court took cognizance on Thursday of the threats received by the minor CJP activist<\/span><\/p>\n

The Supreme Court has taken the stone-pelting seriously at the home of a 14-year-old activist of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), who lives in Ghaziabad, and the threat of rape. On Thursday, the Court said that these allegations could not be taken lightly. No one can be allowed to intimidate or threaten the victim or her family.<\/p>\n

The matter came to light when a lawyer told the bench headed by Chief Justice Suryakant that a counter-FIR had also been registered against the girl, while those accused of allegedly attacking and intimidating her had still not been arrested.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court has sought a status report from the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi governments on the status of the FIR, the security being provided to the girl and her family, and the action taken against the accused. The hearing took place in connection with a case involving Swatantra Bhardwaj, who is accused of attacking the activist’s father.<\/p>\n

Lawyer says-if anything happens to the girl, it cannot be rectified later<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the hearing, the lawyer representing the CJP activist told the court that Parliament Street Police Station was investigating the girl’s complaint. The people who attacked and threatened her are roaming freely, while a counter-FIR has been registered against the girl herself. If anything unfortunate happens to the child, subsequent action will not be able to make up for the damage.<\/p>\n

In response, the CJI said that the investigation and the High-Powered Committee’s proceedings are separate matters, but ensuring the child’s immediate safety is a distinct and essential responsibility. If the people facing the allegations are roaming freely and threatening the girl or her family not to pursue the criminal proceedings, it is a serious matter.<\/p>\n

Rape threats on social media, father abused<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The father of a CJP activist claimed on X on Thursday that his minor daughter was being threatened. On Wednesday, the CJP activist had said that she was being sent messages threatening rape and death.<\/p>\n

She had said, “Some people are calling my statement false. Think for yourself: if these people can use such abusive and objectionable language against me through phone messages, what will happen to my safety if I come face to face with them? How much fear and anxiety would I feel?”<\/p>\n

Earlier, the CJP activist had posted a video on social media platform X at 10:48 p.m. on Saturday night. She said that some people were surrounding her house and that stones and bricks had been thrown at it. She had demanded protection for her parents and family from the Delhi and Ghaziabad police.<\/p>\n

She had said, “If something happens to my parents, who will be held responsible?” However, residents of the society categorically rejected the activist’s statements when speaking to Dainik Bhaskar.<\/p>\n

During the protest at Jantar Mantar, she had also alleged that her father was assaulted. In this case, accused content creator Swatantra Bhardwaj was arrested on Saturday.<\/p>\n
