Delhi voters are being issued notices over discrepancies in the information provided in their enumeration forms submitted under the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">A day earlier, reports emerged that notices had also been issued to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. However, some media reports have also said that notices were issued to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, CBI Director Praveen Sood and former Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Voters who have received notices must submit their responses and the required documents to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of their assembly constituency by 29 October. The claims and objections phase of the SIR will continue until 30 September, and the final electoral roll will be published on 4 November.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><span style=\"font-size:0\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\"><span class=\"e913fbaa d3886593\"><strong>Irregularities found in forms of more than 33 lakh voters<\/strong><\/span><strong\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">According to the Delhi CEO&#8217;s office, notices will be sent to 33.13 lakh voters included in the draft electoral roll over irregularities in their enumeration forms. So far, 31.63 lakh voters have received notices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The Delhi CEO&#8217;s office provided this information on Saturday. Rekha Gupta&#8217;s entry had been included in the list of logical discrepancies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">According to officials, the Chief Minister received a notice because of an age-related discrepancy. Her entry was validated after an investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Every voter in Delhi had to submit a filled-in form during the door-to-door verification drive conducted from 30 June to 17 August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Officials said that most of the notices were sent because records from the previous Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, conducted in 2002 could not be found.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\"><span class=\"e913fbaa d3886593\"><strong>These leaders also receive notices<\/strong><\/span><strong\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Former Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal and BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal have also been sent notices. Kapil Sibal, a voter in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, received a notice because his records could not be linked to those from the previous SIR.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">Virendra Sachdeva said he received the notice because of an error related to his name. He said it would be rectified by submitting the necessary documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">He said his wife&#8217;s and brother&#8217;s names were also on the list of those who received notices. He said the necessary corrections would be made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\"><span class=\"e913fbaa d3886593\"><strong>Third phase of SIR in 16 states, including Delhi and Maharashtra<\/strong><\/span><strong\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">On 14 May, the Election Commission announced the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in 16 states, including Haryana, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Maharashtra, and three Union territories. This is the third phase of SIR.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"word-break:break-word;text-align:left;white-space:pre-line\">The entire process will run from 30 May to 23 December. During this period, 36.73 crore voters are being verified. Among the states where SIR will be conducted, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur will hold Assembly elections next year.
