Khandwa Lawyer Vijay Chaudhary Dies of Heart Attack After Hospital Bike Ride

Vijay Chaudhary was a well-known criminal lawyer in Khandwa and the district co-convener of BJP’s legal cell.

Vijay Chaudhary (42), a prominent criminal lawyer at Khandwa District Court and the district co-convener of the BJP Legal Cell, died after suffering a suspected heart attack.

A resident of Housing Board Colony, Chaudhary initially experienced what he believed was acidity along with mild chest discomfort. Assuming it was not serious, he rode his motorcycle to a nearby private hospital on his own.

However, his condition deteriorated during an ECG examination, and he reportedly stopped breathing.

Had planned temple visit with friends that evening

Close friend and advocate Devendra Yadav said Chaudhary had gone for his regular morning walk with friends on Thursday, where they also practised yoga together. At around 6 pm, Chaudhary called his friends to say he was going to hospital because of acidity.

About an hour later, they received news of his death.

Friends said they had planned to visit Dadaji Temple later that evening, enjoy milk and jalebi at Bombay Bazaar, and travel to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on 7 August, for which reservations had already been made.

Vijay used to go for a walk with friends every morning.

He also did yoga with friends on Thursday morning.

Only son, leaves behind elderly parents, wife and two sons

Vijay Chaudhary was the only son of his parents and the family’s primary breadwinner. He is survived by his elderly parents, wife, and two sons, one studying in higher secondary school and the other in middle school.

According to family and friends, he was deeply religious, performed daily prayers, did not consume intoxicants, and was otherwise healthy apart from diabetes.

Practised criminal law since 2008

After completing his law degree in Indore, Vijay Chaudhary began practising as a criminal lawyer at Khandwa District Court in 2008. His last rites will be performed on Friday in his ancestral village, Rajur (Harsud).
