The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action against illegal construction in Bhopal.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday demolished a two-storey building in Subhalay Vihar, located in Bavadiakalan, for allegedly being constructed illegally.
The action was taken against the unauthorised construction at House No. B-93 in the Subhalay Vihar premises, where Gaurav Grih Nirman Cooperative Society operates.
According to the Municipal Corporation, the original plot had an area of 1,312 square metres, while a G+1 building had been constructed over around 900 square metres at the site.
The approved layout by the Town and Country Planning Department provides for the property as a single plot.
Plot allegedly subdivided and sold illegally
During the investigation, officials found that the plot had allegedly been unauthorisedly subdivided and portions of the cooperative society’s land were sold illegally.
The construction was also found to be in violation of the approved layout.
Following the findings, the Municipal Corporation carried out demolition of the unauthorised G+1 structure, comprising the ground and first floors, in accordance with the rules.
The demolition was conducted in the presence of concerned municipal officials and staff, with necessary security arrangements in place.
The corporation took action and demolished the building.
Residents advised to verify approvals before construction
The Municipal Corporation has appealed to residents to verify the approved layout and obtain necessary permissions from the concerned departments before purchasing, selling or constructing any property.
Officials also urged people to avoid unauthorised plotting and illegal construction.
The building was demolished with the help of a JCB.

Bhopal: Mela organiser fined ₹16,200 for spreading garbage
Meanwhile, a fair organiser in Bhopal was fined ₹16,200 for allegedly leaving garbage and waste at Dussehra Maidan in Bitthan Market after the event.
Municipal officials also took action against people disrupting cleanliness arrangements in other parts of the city, issuing spot fines totalling ₹13,100 in 81 cases.
According to officials, the Zone 10 municipal team was inspecting the Bitthan Market area on Friday when it found large quantities of garbage and waste scattered across Dussehra Maidan.
Following the inspection, officials imposed a spot fine on the fair organiser.
