A month ago, the house in Indore where wedding music resonated, was filled with mourning on Sunday. Major Hamza Arif of Indore returned home draped in the tricolor. He was given a final farewell with full military honors. Every eye was moist upon seeing the mortal remains wrapped in the tricolor.
The most emotional moment of the final farewell came when his wife, Jyoti Arora, arrived to pay her last respects to her husband. With trembling hands, she saluted the mortal remains wrapped in the tricolor, but could not control herself and burst into tears. After the Guard of Honor, army officers handed her the same tricolor in which Major Hamza Arif had returned home. She clutched the flag to her chest.
Army SUV overturned after colliding with a camel in Jaisalmer, Major dies
It is reported that late Thursday night, Major Hamza Arif was returning to the military station in an army Tata Safari after completing his duty with two fellow officers. Near the Thaiyat military area, a camel suddenly appeared on the road. The vehicle collided with the camel, lost control, and skidded for a considerable distance, overturning multiple times. Major Hamza Arif died on the spot in the accident, while two lieutenants were seriously injured. Their treatment is ongoing at the military hospital. The camel also died in the accident.

In the morning, funeral prayers were offered in Saifi Nagar. After this, the mortal remains departed for the final journey in an army vehicle. The procession passed through Saifi Nagar, Manikbagh Bridge, Collector Chauraha, Rajwada, and Sadar Bazar, reaching the Shia Dawoodi Bohra Cemetery in Imli Bazar. Throughout the journey, people stood outside their homes and shops, paying their last respects to the Major.

A large number of people were already present at Rajwada. As soon as the army vehicle arrived, the entire area echoed with slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Major Hamza Arif Amar Rahen’ (Long Live Major Hamza Arif). People paid their respects by folding their hands and saluting him. The army gave a guard of honor at the cemetery. Thereafter, he was laid to rest according to religious rituals.
Many Senior Army Officers Participated
Many senior army officers from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh participated in the last journey and funeral. Besides officers of Colonel, Lieutenant, and Major ranks, a large number of people from the Bohra community, city residents, relatives, and friends were present.
Married a Month Ago, Had Been Serving in the Army for 9 Years

Major Hamza had been married just a month ago.
Family members said that 31-year-old Major Hamza Arif was married about a month ago. After the wedding, he had returned to duty after spending a few days on leave. No one had thought that just a few days after starting a new life, he would return home draped in the tricolor. Major Hamza had been serving in the Indian Army for the past nine years. His parents and three sisters survive him. His father is retired from RR CAT.
