Govinda has reacted strongly to his wife Sunita Ahuja’s recent remarks about him. Sunita had alleged that Govinda was dating his co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar, claiming that the actress was around their daughter’s age and that he should be ashamed. She had also referred to Govinda as the actress’s “sugar daddy”.
Responding to her comments, Govinda warned Sunita to “stay within her limits” and defended his co-star. He accused Sunita of making repeated statements that could damage his reputation and said she was leaving no stone unturned to defame him.
Govinda recently told Sunita, “The work that is available outside, I don’t do it, and whatever I am doing, you are interfering in it. When you were doing your work, whether it was a cooking show (Laughter Chefs) or Lock Upp, you called me there through Tina (our daughter) and took my services. That is your right. But the moment I started a film, you started leaving no stone unturned to make people turn against me, defame me or create a situation where my business does not work.”

Defending his co-star Komal Rani Swarnakar, Govinda said that people from less privileged backgrounds who enter the film industry should not be humiliated or made to feel ashamed.
He said, “If people from poor families have entered the film industry, don’t defame or shame them to such an extent that they are forced to leave. You have ability, strength, respect, wealth and fame — everything given to you by the Almighty. That doesn’t mean you should humiliate someone who doesn’t have these things. This does not suit you.”
Govinda tells Sunita to ‘stay within limits’
Sunita has repeatedly alleged that Govinda is dating a woman around their daughter’s age and has referred to him as a “sugar daddy”. Responding to her comments about his age, Govinda said that established actors often work with younger actresses and that such collaborations can also make them appear more youthful.
He said, “Regarding this age narrative you’ve started, let me tell you that every big superstar in the country has worked with younger, new actresses, and they have gone on to get big films. By working with younger actors, they also appeared youthful. You don’t want me to look youthful. You are trying to sabotage a big business over a small expectation.”
Govinda further alleged that people were aware of the “gang” behind Sunita and claimed that its identity would eventually come out. He added, “I think you will need help somewhere down the line. Please, by making such statements and running this podcast, stay within limits. That is my request to you.”
Govinda objects to Sunita’s use of abusive language
After making the statement, Govinda appeared to leave but returned a few seconds later to make another point. He criticised Sunita for allegedly using abusive language involving mothers and sisters.
He said, “I would also like to say, Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of mother-sister abuses. Pray to God that if people get inspired by you, where will you look in the mirror? If people start using such abuses against you, we will all be ashamed. This is not right. You have made the names of mothers and sisters very cheap. We don’t expect this from you.”
Why did Govinda react to Sunita’s remarks?
Govinda’s reaction came after he was recently spotted with Komal Rani Swarnakar, his co-star in his upcoming comeback film Roopa. Commenting on the pictures, Sunita reportedly said that Govinda was “roaming around with a girl the age of his daughter” and suggested that he should be ashamed of it. She had also referred to the actress as Govinda’s “sugar daddy” connection.

Many things are not expressed. Is it necessary to make accusations to create distance? But people believe this is an easy way out.
He questioned whether it’s necessary to badmouth one’s own people for success. This is a bit easy. Sunita praises and then criticizes. I see more love in this.
