After CM Vijay announced new vehicles for all MLAs, TVK MLA Sindhu thanked him by singing a song in the Assembly. She sang the famous Tamil superstar MGR song “Koduthathellam Koduthaan” to express her gratitude to CM Vijay.
Along with this, an announcement was made in the Assembly to provide MLAs a monthly allowance of ₹1 lakh. Vijay said this would enable MLAs to work honestly for transparent and better governance.
In addition, Vijay announced that the annual insurance coverage under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme would be increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh. Transgender people will also be provided additional medical and surgical treatment facilities at seven government medical college hospitals.
Vijay announced 75 thousand rupees every month for MLAs’ maintenance, fuel and driver expenses.
Treatment for transgender people in hospitals
Under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, transgender people will receive medical and surgical treatment at government hospitals in Chennai, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Chengalpattu, Tiruvarur, Dharmapuri and Kanniyakumari.
The Chief Minister also announced an increase in the state government’s procurement price for Aavin milk from ₹38 to ₹41 per litre. This will cost the government an additional ₹360 crore annually and benefit 3.16 lakh milk producers.
