Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has sparked a fresh debate by linking a horrific double murder in Bengaluru to the pitfalls of modern dating culture. Sharing an image of a blue plastic drum on social media, she warned her followers about the dangers of losing empathy in relationships.

Kangana warns against “Body Count” culture
Reacting to the crime, Kangana expressed concern over rising violence in relationships. “Every other day we read about women throwing men off cliffs or men packing women into blue drums,” she wrote.
She stated that while adopting Western lifestyles is easy, modern dating trends like “benching,” “ghosting,” and tracking “body counts” are desensitising society. According to Kangana, reducing human connections to mere physical bodies strips away their sanctity.

“Once you normalise this, your relationships are reduced to bodies. Then, don’t cry when you are turned into a corpse (dead body) yourself,” she warned. She concluded her post sarcastically, telling her critics that a “blue drum” might be waiting around the corner for them.

The Bengaluru Double Murder Case
Kangana’s remarks came in response to a shocking crime in Bengaluru’s Chikkabanavara area.
The Crime: A 26-year-old woman named Harini, along with her lover Vinay, allegedly murdered her 35-year-old husband, Abhinandan, to secure property worth crores and continue their illicit affair.
The Innocent Victim: The couple’s four-year-old son, Yaduveer, who witnessed his father’s murder, was also strangled to death to eliminate any eyewitnesses.

After the murders, Harini called the police, claiming she found her husband and son dead in bed.
Investigators noticed contradictions in her statements. Under intense questioning, Harini confessed to the double murder. She has been arrested, while the police are actively searching for her absconding lover, Vinay.
Kangana’s recent controversies: Gen Z remark to spat with Ramdev

This is not the first time Kangana’s outspoken remarks have brought her in the spotlight. Recently, she faced severe backlash for calling Gen Z “Generation Gutter.” Commenting on student protests at Jantar Mantar, she described their behaviour as “nauseating” and claimed they had nothing to offer the system.

Following widespread outrage, she clarified that she was only referring to a specific group of protesters, not the entire youth of the country.
Spat with Ramdev
This comment drew sharp criticism from yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who questioned her credentials and character. In a television interview, Ramdev asked, “What is her qualification? How was her childhood and youth? Calling the nation’s youth ‘gutter’ shows a disturbed mind.”
Kangana quickly retaliated on Instagram, telling Ramdev to stop “daydreaming” about her jawani (youth) or bedroom. She wrote, “At least I have never been reprimanded by the Supreme Court for making false or fake medical claims. Do not teach me lessons on character.” She asserted that her character was far better than his, concluding that she has never been caught committing fraud.

Such dirty, such vulgar things and threats: ‘Get out of the country’, ‘We will burn you’, ‘We will kill you’, what is this, does anyone think, are these civilised things?

Kangana questioned the love for Pakistan
Kangana said, ‘And whenever you see, be it their films, their talks, their interviews, when will this love story of Pakistan end? Whenever you see, they are dying in love with Pakistan. I want to know that so many years have passed since the partition, then why is this love story not ending?’
She further said, ‘;When there are so many, be it the Pahalgam attack or the Operation Sindoor we carried out, the country is going somewhere else, the armies are going somewhere else, the citizens have some other struggles regarding neighboring countries, when will this Bollywood love story with Pakistan end?’
