A case has come to light in Bengaluru involving the kidnapping and assault of a 30-year-old woman over the repayment of a loan amount and interest. It is alleged that she was called to a house, forcibly taken to another location, and confined in a room for several days. Three people, including two women, have been arrested in connection with the case.

The woman told the police that the accused demanded that she repay ₹11 lakh. During this period, she was beaten, forced to undress, and filmed. It is alleged that she was pressured to pay money by threatening to make the video viral.

Called home on the pretext of work, taken in an auto-rickshaw with her son

According to the woman, about two years ago she borrowed ₹50,000 from Nazath, repayable in weekly installments, and ₹1 lakh from Reshma Banu at monthly interest. Due to financial difficulties, she had been unable to pay the installments for the past few weeks.

On August 27, Nazath called her to her home in Metro Layout on the pretext of offering her work and money. The woman arrived there with her young son. It is alleged that after some time, Reshma, her husband Suhail, and two other people entered the house. They assaulted the woman, smashed her mobile phone, and threatened her with a knife.

After this, the woman and her son were forcibly made to sit in an auto-rickshaw and taken to a house in Kumbalgodu. According to the police, Reshma occupied the first floor of this house.

Beaten with a stick, stripped and filmed

According to the complaint, after reaching Kumbalgodu, the woman was locked in a room. It is alleged that she was beaten with a stick there and threatened to pay Rs 11 lakh.

On August 29, the accused forced the woman to remove her clothes and recorded her on a mobile phone. She was then threatened with having the video made public. The woman also alleged that Suhail had threatened to force her into prostitution.

The woman’s eldest son was sent to his mother’s house on August 29, while the woman was held captive there.

Taken to a lawyer and made to sign documents

On August 30, the accused took the woman to a lawyer near City Market. According to the complaint, she was made to sign some documents there. After this, she was taken back to the house in Kumbalgodu.

On August 31, the woman pretended that she needed to use the toilet. During this time, she informed the police. After receiving the information, the police reached the house, rescued the woman and took her to the Chandra Layout police station.

Three arrested, including two women

Based on the woman’s complaint, the police registered a case against Nazath, Reshma Banu, Suhail, Saif and others under several sections, including kidnapping, wrongful confinement, assault, criminal intimidation and the IT Act.
