
PM Modi has visited Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce in 2013.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on Saturday, 13 years after his last visit.
He will attend a ceremony marking the college’s completion of 100 years and address the event.
Modi previously visited the college in 2013, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. A year later, in 2014, he became Prime Minister.
In April this year, Modi released a commemorative postage stamp to mark SRCC completing 100 years.

In April this year, Modi met members of SRCC’s governing body and a delegation at his residence to mark the institute’s centenary. He also released a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion.
Apart from the Prime Minister, SRCC Principal Prof. Simrit Kaur has also invited Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi to attend the ceremony. The event is being held on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
PM met with teachers who received national awards

On April 25, 2026, PM Modi met with several people, including the governing body, Principal Prof. Simrit Kaur, and journalist Rajat Sharma, at his residence to mark the completion of 100 years of SRCC.
On Saturday, Teachers’ Day, Modi interacted with 48 teachers who will receive the National Award today. A five-minute video of the interaction was released on Modi’s YouTube channel.
During the interaction, Modi asked a female teacher, “You teach public speaking to children. If I were a student at your school and wanted to become a good speaker, what tips would you give me?”
The teacher replied that the first and most important thing was to show confidence. Modi then asked with a smile, “So, how does this confidence come about?” The teacher said it comes with practice.

Year 2024: Modi told a teacher from Tamil Nadu – Everyone is under the illusion that everyone there knows English

In 2024, Modi met the winners of the National Teachers’ Award. That year, 82 teachers received the award. During the interaction, a teacher from Tamil Nadu said that many people in her area wanted to study in their local language.
Modi said there was a misconception that everyone in Tamil Nadu must know English. He said this was why the New Education Policy had placed emphasis on learning in the mother tongue.

Last year, a day before Teachers’ Day, Modi met 45 National Teachers’ Award winners in Delhi. He addressed them for around 35 minutes.
During the interaction, Modi spoke about GST reforms, laws related to online gaming and Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India).
