The grand finale of Miss World 2026 is being held in Vietnam today, with Ujjain’s Nikita Porwal representing India in the global beauty pageant.
After winning the Miss India 2024 title, Nikita is now competing for the Miss World crown, while her parents and brother have travelled to Vietnam for the finale, and her grandparents in Ujjain are praying for their granddaughter’s victory.
Nikita’s grandfather, Dhannalal Porwal, sat down with his friends on Saturday to watch the finale on television. Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, he said that Nikita has remained in constant contact with the family since leaving for Vietnam. She regularly updates them via video calls about the competition preparations and the activities taking place there.

Grandfather said, ‘The day we had been waiting for has arrived’
Grandfather Dhannalal said that Nikita had visited Ujjain before leaving for Vietnam. During this visit, she went to the temples of Baba Mahakal, Kal Bhairav, and Maa Baglamukhi, offered prayers, and sought their blessings.
He said, “Before leaving for Vietnam, Nikita had said that she would return only after becoming Miss World. Today, the day we had all been waiting for has arrived.”
He said that Nikita is very confident about her victory. The family is also fully hopeful that she will make the country proud in the competition. He said that God’s blessings and the prayers of the people of the country are with Nikita. The family will watch the live broadcast of the finale tonight and see their granddaughter on the world stage.
Parents and brother also arrived in Vietnam
Nikita’s parents and brother have also reached Vietnam to witness this special moment in her life. The family will stay there and cheer Nikita on during the finale. Meanwhile, in Ujjain, her acquaintances and fans, including her grandparents, are also wishing her success.

Nikita Porwal is the daughter of Ashok Porwal and Rajkumari Porwal, who live in Arvind Nagar, opposite the Ujjain Municipal Corporation. Her father is involved in the oil business.
Nikita won the Femina Miss India Madhya Pradesh 2024 title among 200 contestants. Later, she won the title at the Miss India 2024 competition held in Mumbai.
The noteworthy thing is that Nikita participated in a beauty pageant for the first time and achieved success in her very first attempt. Along with acting, she is also interested in writing. She has written scripts for several national and international stage dramas. Her works include a 250-page play on Krishna Leela.
