Abir’s father, Gurmeet Singh Jolly, popularly known as Shera, has been Salman Khan’s bodyguard for more than 30 years.
Abir Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh Jolly, popularly known as Shera, Salman Khan’s longtime bodyguard, may soon enter Bollywood as an actor. According to a Filmfare report, Abir is set to make his debut with Tarzan. Actor Sooraj Pancholi will also be part of the film.
Reports about his debut surfaced in 2022
Abir’s Bollywood debut has been discussed since 2022. At the time, reports claimed that Salman Khan was personally involved in planning his launch. The project was reportedly set to be directed by actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, with shooting expected to begin in January 2023.

Abir Singh worked as an assistant director (AD) on Salman Khan’s blockbuster film ‘Sultan’.
However, there has been no official announcement about the project. Following Satish Kaushik’s death in March 2023, no further information emerged about Abir’s debut. A new report now claims that Abir has been signed for ‘Tarzan’. Details of the film’s director, production banner and remaining cast have not yet been revealed. It is therefore not yet clear whether Salman Khan will launch Abir Singh.

Abir often shares pictures with Salman Khan on Instagram.
According to the report, Sooraj Pancholi will be seen alongside Abir in Tarzan. Sooraj made his Bollywood debut with the 2015 romantic action film Hero, which was produced by Salman Khan. Athiya Shetty, daughter of Suniel Shetty, also made her acting debut with the film.
‘Hero’ gave Sooraj and Athiya recognition
Hero introduced both Sooraj and Athiya to Bollywood, although the film did not perform strongly at the box office. If the reports about Tarzan are confirmed, Sooraj will now share the screen with another newcomer associated with Salman Khan’s launch projects.
Salman has launched several newcomers
Salman Khan has helped introduce several new faces to Bollywood through his films and production ventures. Sonakshi Sinha made her debut with Dabangg, while Zareen Khan was launched with Veer. Daisy Shah made her leading-role debut with Jai Ho, and Saiee Manjrekar entered Hindi cinema with Dabangg 3.

Salman Khan Films (SKF) was established in 2014.
Meanwhile, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty made their Bollywood debuts with the 2015 film ‘Hero’, produced under his banner, Salman Khan Films (SKF).
Later, Warina Hussain made her debut as a leading actress with ‘Loveyatri’ in 2018. Salman’s brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, was also launched in the film.
In 2019, Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl made their debuts as lead actors in Salman Khan-produced ‘Notebook’. In 2023, Salman Khan Films launched Alizeh Agnihotri with ‘The Archies’.
Salman may make a cameo in his nephew’s debut film
Arhaan Khan, the son of Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora, is set to make his Bollywood debut as a leading hero soon. The interesting part is that Salman Khan may appear in a cameo role in the film to make his debut special. According to reports, the film will be an action love story. Its title has not yet been finalised.

Arhaan Khan studied filmmaking in the United States. He has also worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar’s film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
The film will be directed by Anirudh Iyer. He previously directed Ayushmann Khurrana’s film ‘An Action Hero’. The film is being produced by Ashwin Varde. According to reports, Salman may shoot for around 10 days for his cameo. Filming is expected to begin in early 2027.
