Armaan Malik & Amaal Malik Support; Salman Khan Hero Song Controversy

Singer Armaan Malik, who recently announced a break from singing, has spoken out after criticising Salman Khan’s production house over a missing song credit. Armaan claimed that he was not credited in a recent post about a song from Hero. His comments led to criticism on social media, with some users pointing out Salman’s support for his career.

Armaan says artists must fight for their rights

Responding to one such comment, Armaan defended his stand and said people should understand how it feels when an artist’s name is left out despite their contribution. He said he has always been grateful for the opportunities he received early in his career but added that artists also need to stand up for their rights.

Armaan wrote, “If we do not fight for our rights, no one else will.”

Armaan speaks up for his brother and lyricist’s credits

A fan asked Armaan not to pay attention to the trolls. He clarified that his response was aimed at ensuring that his brother and the lyricist received proper credit.

Armaan said, “I was genuinely only concerned about my brother and the lyricist receiving credit. Without them, this song is nothing. Leave my credit aside. I have stopped expecting anything. You people are enough for me.”

What is the full controversy?

On 11 September, 11 years were completed since the release of the film Hero, which was released in 2015. On the occasion, a post related to the film was shared on the Instagram and X accounts of Salman Khan Films production house. Amaal Mallik had composed the songs for the film, but he was not credited in the post.

Amal Malik expressed his displeasure at not being credited and wrote, “How could the person managing the Salman Khan Films page have the audacity to leave out the composer and lyricist? This does not look good.”

He said that a song is created through the hard work, sweat, blood and pain of the composer and lyricist. When celebrating such a song, its creators should be respected and mentioned.

Amaal went on to write, “Learn the basics, or delete this page. Do not delete my comment. Let Salman sir see this as well, so that he knows you made a mistake.”

Production edited the post and added Amaal’s name

After Amaal’s post came to light, Salman Khan’s production house edited the post and added Amaal Malik’s name to it.

The Instagram post has been edited and credit added, although credit has still not been given on X.

Amaal composed ‘Hero’ songs in 2015

In 2015, Amaal Mallik composed the music for Salman Khan’s Hero. Its song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’, originally sung by his brother Armaan Malik, became popular. Salman later recorded a special version of the song in his own voice.

Amaal has spoken about industry politics

Amaal has repeatedly spoken about his struggles in Bollywood. He has accused influential people of sidelining him and claimed that he was removed from nearly 50 projects. He has also spoken about groupism and alleged attempts to create negativity around him and his work.

He also had a public fallout with Tanishk Bagchi

Amaal recently made headlines after speaking about his long-standing differences with composer Tanishk Bagchi. He alleged that he had stayed silent about certain issues for years but eventually decided to speak out.

Family dispute also made headlines

Last year, Amaal said he was cutting ties with his family and spoke about struggling with depression. He alleged that the actions of people close to him had affected his mental health.

Amaal made allegations against uncle Anu Malik

During Bigg Boss 19, Amaal accused his uncle Anu Malik of affecting his father Daboo Malik’s career. He also made comments about his aunt, which led to controversy. Daboo Malik later clarified that Amaal’s statements were based on things he had heard and experienced as a child, and apologised if anyone was hurt.

He had also commented on Anu Malik’s #MeToo allegations

In an old interview, Amaal said he was ashamed by the allegations against Anu Malik and felt there must be some truth behind them because several women had spoken out. Anu Malik and Daboo Malik are brothers, but relations between their families have reportedly been strained in recent years.
