Amaal Malik has clarified his recent remarks after people accused him of targeting Salman Khan. He said his comments were not directed at Salman but at the PR and digital teams of Salman Khan’s production house and page. He added that no one has the right to undermine an artist’s hard work.
Says his comments were not against Salman
Amaal clarified on social media, “This is not against Salman Khan sir, but against the PR and digital teams of his production house, page and Salman Khan Films, and it is a statutory warning for them to start taking artists seriously.”
Amal went on to express her gratitude to Salman, writing, “We got our break in films because of Salman Khan. Armaan and I have accepted this with complete gratitude and love for a decade. This fight is for the respect of creators; it is for the scene. I have to repeatedly speak out against those idiots who question my intentions and show disrespect towards me and my family. Just because we are allegedly not grateful to Mr Salman Khan for giving us food to eat and clothes to wear? Really?”
What is the full controversy?
The film Hero, released on 11 September 2015, completed 11 years on 11 September. On the occasion, a post related to the film was shared on the Instagram and X accounts of Salman Khan Films production house. The film’s songs were composed by Amaal Mallik, but he was not credited in the post.
Upset at not being credited, Amaal Mallik wrote, “How could the person managing the Salman Khan Films page have the audacity to leave out the music composer and lyricist? This does not look good.”
He said a song is created through the hard work, blood, sweat and pain of the composer and lyricist. Their creators should be respected and mentioned when celebrating such a song.
Amal further wrote, “Learn the basics, or delete this page. Do not delete my comment. Let Salman sir see it as well, so that he knows you made a mistake.”
Production edited the post and added Amal’s name
After Amal’s post came to light, Salman Khan’s production house edited the post and added Amal Malik’s name to it.
The Instagram post has been edited and the credit added, although no credit has yet been given on X.
Salman Khan gave Amal his break
Salman Khan has contributed to Amal Malik’s career. In 2014, Salman gave Amal his break in Bollywood as a music composer through his film ‘Jai Ho’. Salman also supported Armaan Malik by attending the launch of his music album.

In 2015, Amal Malik composed the music for the Salman Khan production house film ‘Hero’. The film’s song “Main Hoon Hero Tera” was a blockbuster. It was originally sung by Amal’s brother Armaan Malik, and Salman Khan later recorded a special version of it in his own voice.

Amaal Malik also received support from his brother Armaan in the credit dispute. Replying to a troll, he wrote, “Please first create, write or sing an original song. Then see how easily your name is left out from where it should be.”
He said, “I would like to know how you would feel then. Do not talk about gratitude. I have always been grateful for my beginnings. But I also know how difficult it has been to reach where I am. If we do not fight for our rights, no one else will.”
Armaan speaks up for brother and lyricist credits
A fan asked Armaan not to pay attention to the trolls. He clarified that his response was aimed at ensuring that his brother and the lyricist received proper credit.
Armaan said, “I was genuinely concerned only about the credits for my brother and the lyricist. Without them, this song is nothing. Leave my credit aside. I have stopped expecting anything. You are enough for me.”
