The brother of Pakistan’s notorious gangster Prince Khan, Bunti Khan, was arrested at Kolkata airport while allegedly planning to flee to Dubai. Dhanbad Police, acting on a tip-off, laid a trap in the airport area with the help of Kolkata Police.
Police set trap near Kolkata airport
According to police, Bunti was arrested as soon as he reached Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport to board his flight. Police recovered a fake passport, visa and several other documents from his possession. He is now being questioned by the police.
Bunti arrested while catching flight
A senior Dhanbad Police officer said Bunti was preparing to leave the country and wanted to reach his brother Prince Khan, who is currently in Dubai. However, the plan was foiled by the police.
Fake passport and visa recovered
Bunti Khan is facing several cases in Dhanbad, including extortion, murder and kidnapping. Police said complaints against him are registered at multiple police stations in the district. However, he had been untraceable for some time.
Bunti remained untraceable for several months
Recently, police received information that Bunti was planning to flee abroad. Following the tip-off, Dhanbad Police, with assistance from Kolkata Police, started keeping a close watch on the Kolkata airport area.
Police said Bunti was arrested as soon as he arrived at the airport to catch his flight.
Bunti previously arrested in Uttar Pradesh
Earlier, in March 2022, Bunti and two associates were arrested from a railway station in Uttar Pradesh. He remained in jail for nearly four years before being released on bail in January this year.
Police alleged that soon after coming out of jail, Bunti returned to criminal activities and became involved in extortion again.
Police foil Dubai escape
A senior Dhanbad Police officer said Bunti was preparing to leave India and reach Prince Khan in Dubai, but the plan was foiled before he could leave the country.
